What are the chances of that happening?

Sometimes things just go against you. Today Steven and David had band practise at our place. For some reason, David decided to wire things differently and put his pedals and cables in front of his beloved AVT50X Marshall valve amp.

During the session somehow a symbol stand was knocked over, it fell in front of Dave’s amp and sliced into the mains cable. The result was a bang and flash as the symbol cut into the cable and shorted live to earth.

The up shot is Dave’s amp now makes a lot of horrible noise and very little guitar sound. We fear the short circuit has damaged a valve. :(

Another hospital trip for Kaz

August 20th, 2007 PaulBM No comments

Today we had a trip to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, for Kaz to have a bone scan. First she had an injection, radioactive apparently. Similar dosage to having an x-ray. Then we had 3 hours to wander around Norwich while the injection did it’s stuff and prepared to highlight her bones. When we returned to the hospital, the actual bone scan took about 30 minutes.

In between the trips to the hospital, David bought himself a Jackson Flying V electric guitar (£180), that’s all his birthday money gone and some pocket money in advance. So both he and Steven both have 3 guitars (2 electrics and an acoustic) each now.

David is 15 today and…

Our youngest son, David, is 15 today.

The day is marred by having to attend the Cancer treatment clinic to learn about the first part of Kaz’s course of treatment. Her first Chemotherapy will begin next Wednesday. She’s hoping to still go out to dinner with her friends from the hospital that evening. And I’m sure she will too.
