An awful job…

Today, with me at work, Kaz got lumbered with the job that all pet owners dread, taking their pet on a one way trip to the Vet.
Our 13 year old cat, Dizzy, has been unwell for a week or two now. The treatment of steroids didn’t help him and he could only drink and lay around the last day or so.

This video of a cat that plays piano helped a bit today…

It’s not looking good…

Dizzy is struggling now, he’s not eating much after two days of Steroids and is just sitting about. He doesn’t even look comfortable, the way cats are masters at looking.

An interesting program to combat the Loudness War

Steven sent me an instant message today, pointing me to this thread on the Mike Portnoy forum…

In case the site disappears the thread advertises what looks to be a great program to remove the horrible clipping that occurs all too frequently on modern CDs. It reduces the the volume of the WAV file that it is asked to process and trys to repair the peaks that have clipped and been chopped off.

We’ll be looking into this program, and possibly ‘fixing’ some of our CDs that are distorted and clipped. We need to do some real tests at home first.

Dizzy had a trip to the vet…

We had to take our cat, Dizzy, to the Vets today. Using a chart on the wall at the Vets it looks like Dizzy is the human equivalent of about 70 years old, about 13 to 14 in our years.

He’s been eating and drinking excessively for a few days and has diahorea. He’s also lots weight, not good signs.

He’s had a blood test and tomorrow we should get phone call with the results. Fingers crossed.
